Through the pandemic, everyone needed some help with something or the others. With the authorities imposing lockdowns and curfews and borders shut for the most part, people were unsure how they were going to get supplies. Companies could not call their staff in for their safety, and people started working remotely. Additionally, companies were letting go of their people because they could no longer meet the deadlines that they had initially put out.

When it came to everyone’s health, the elderly were more likely to not recover from the virus. We started working with a team who were careful when heading outdoors and following all the requirements when getting through the process. Non-medical home care was a requirement for most people because they had needs that they could no longer handle by themselves.

Over the last couple of years, we worked with many clients who were unsure about the characteristics to look for when finding a healthcare center. If you are looking for one, we want to make sure you are heading in the right direction. These are a few of the pointers to keep in mind to make sure you find the most efficient team when coordinating with various teams to provide help to your loved ones.

1. Extreme focus on high-quality service
When you are working with a team, you have to make sure that they provide you with the best quality of service. Ideally, they should be assisting with everything on the list and be open to doing a little more during these times. While they do not have to, there are a lot of things that companies work on because most people are finding it challenging to cope during these hard times.

2. 24-hour line always answered
You want to be able to connect with the team that is assisting you with all your requirements. It would be challenging to get things done when you are dependent on someone else, and you cannot reach them for an entire day. You have to make sure that you are working with a team that is always there for you or would at least be able to connect with you and provide you with a solution for the time being till they can be there and significantly make a difference.

3. Caregivers who truly care why they do this, not just perform the functions
You want to work with a team that is putting in their all. You want to make sure they are there to help in any way possible. They should care about the job and the tasks that they are performing and not be looking at it as a job and doing it for the sake of doing it. When they care about the people and the outcome and invest in their betterment, they would see better results, and the people would be happy about working with them.

4. The agency owner is always available to talk
Although this is not something done often, as a client, you want to make sure that you can connect with and speak to the manager at any point in time. You might suggest changes, complain about the people on the team, or commend them for their outstanding performance, but want to make sure that you can connect with the boss whenever possible, instead of working through the subordinates. Even if this is not the case in the initial stages, it should be something pushed for at some point.

5. The caregivers should feel supported and listened to and have the confidence to make decisions on their own
While there are caregivers who are always asking for direction and instructions, you want them to be self-sufficient at some point in time. They should be working on the process in stages and make sure they get to the end eventually. You want them to work through the process and then learn enough to be dependent and work on the changes themselves, which would be the ideal process. However, they should not be overconfident and should ask for assistance with the more challenging tasks.
